To explain our tiny living journey and how we got here, I want to show your our dream home!!! It was MASSIVE, had the most amazing wrap around porch, had space for everyone plus a studio, and it was in the woods with only a few neighbors. We bought it in 2015 and sold it in 2017. When we bought it, I wanted to be close to family (Kansas), and Aaron wanted a state that wasn’t flat. Beyond that, we had no other specifics on where to land after he retired from the Army.
Eventually we agreed on Arkansas. A quick, 2 hour drive to Kansas to see family whenever we wanted, and it’s definitely not flat with the Ozark mountains lol. We thought we were getting small town living in the woods. We thought the house was going to be in the school district of the little town up the road. Instead, it was zoned for the larger city in the opposite direction. We got to drive to the city daily for school and site in the house long pick-up line. Not exactly what we envisioned for post military life.
Fast forward a year and after watching entirely way too many travel tv shows, we decided to sell our dream home and move to Kansas anyways. Our plan was to downsize, find a comfortable home, and try to travel more!
